Eugene Meehan is one of those rear breed of Irishmen a batchelor farmer living alone in the foothills of the Bluestack Mountains possessing many gifts. Eugene’s being a fabulous voice which he uses in church choirs and raising funds for charities. Wherever he appears Eugene proves very popular with audiences all over Donegal so much so that they kept requesting that he do a recording of the most popular songs at his concerts. Hence this lovely recording which includes a great original song written by Packie Manus Byrne one of Irelands first superstars of the fifties and a great songwriter. The song Bruckless Bay was specially written for Eugene by his neighbour about the area they live in and the surrounding views they see every day. The song gives a great insight into that beauty of the area we are blessed to reside in. This is a lovely collection of songs sung by Eugene for the sheer pleasure of it and it shows.
